I think the pro-gay marriage gestapo is over-estimating the effect these pictures will have on Prejean's reputation among conservatives. Take their line of attack featured on the insufferably low-brow site peddling the pictures:
Exclusive: Self-proclaimed bible thumper Miss California, Carrie Prejean, should start pointing the finger at herself for her own indiscretions. TheDirty.com has received exclusive images of the homophobic debutante that would clearly strip her of her Miss California crown. So much for being a good role model for the state of California Carrie. Looks like your Dirty photo shoot makes you a sinner too. I decided. Thanks, Dirty, for explaining to a Christian that she too is a sinner.
These people obviously don't know the fundamentals of Christianity very well, at least not as well as they know how to fish for nude pictures to hurt people's reputations. Let's fill them in on some Christianity 101.
Christians recognize that all people are born with a sin nature and therefore need to repent and be saved by the blood of Christ. Salvation is open to all mankind. Everyone sins. Everyone needs saved. If one doesn't believe that, then he is of a belief that defies any need for salvation for all, the very cornerstone of the faith Prejean and I both share.
"Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be.”She never claimed to be a non-sinner. Prejean made some decisions in her teen years I'm sure she's not proud of, just like the rest of us. It's not so far fetched that a model, with Prejean's looks, once modeled some underwear like this. If everyone looked like her, this particular mistake would probably be much more popular among the various infractions typically committed by young people. That's the truth, not an excuse.
If making a mistake in your life exempts you from taking a stance against other actions you disagree with for the rest of your life, then every person on earth would have to remain completely silent on every ethical or moral issue forever. Is that what they want?
So, Dirty.com, before you go calling people Bible thumpers and trying to play the part of one yourself mockingly, you best go read some of that book that's being thumped. Otherwise you'll never understand it, and you will continue to show your ignorance to people who do with statements like the one above.

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. . . . Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. . . . For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

Great post. Thanks for the links.
Yeah, my first thought upon seeing the picture was "sweet Jesus, what have you created?" followed by "she could wed me and have my babies any day". Thanks, dirty guy, for giving me a chance to re-affirm my faith.
Creating fear of religion is the best weapon anti-deists have in recruiting and keeping people in their camp. Even among those of my friends and associates who politely (and patiently) 'put up with' my Christianity, there is a pervasive 'understanding' that what Christians want and expect the most from others is that everyone stop doing what they want to (sin, have fun, keep their priorities in line with whatever Perez Hilton says is in vogue, etc.) and INSTEAD, only do the things that the Bible explicitly tells them to. And to compound this problem, most people get what little they know of the contents of the Bible from the misguided or completely blasphemous teachings of a handful of ministers or 'teachers' that aren't really getting their 'Truth' from the book anyway.
With a background of understanding like that, we have no hope of explaining to anti-Christians that God doesn't believe in that stuff any more than they do.
The best trick the Devil ever played was to convince the world he doesn't exist.
The second-best one has been in convincing the world of the same lies he got Eve to slip on: that God wants to keep good things from us and that He is eager to cause us harm at the first opportunity.
P.S.: Oh, and that other thing -- God DID actually create sex. And sexiness. And um, Eve, the original hottie. And when He was done, He sat back and reviewed what He had created, and declared it 'Very Good'. Who are we to argue?
